Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Architectural Graduate for a Junior Design Placement within our Kalgoorlie office. This full-time internship offers an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate to launch their architectural career, gaining invaluable hands-on experience under the guidance of seasoned professionals. This role is designed for individuals with little to no prior professional experience, providing comprehensive training, mentorship, and exposure to all stages of the architectural project lifecycle in a dynamic regional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior architects and designers in the development of conceptual designs, presentations, and design documentation.
- Prepare and refine architectural drawings, plans, sections, elevations, and details using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site visits and assist with site analysis, measurements, and photographic documentation.
- Research and gather information on building codes, regulations, materials, and construction techniques.
- Support the team in preparing project proposals, reports, and client presentations.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external consultants to achieve project goals.
- Participate in design meetings and contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
- Maintain project files and ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution (or equivalent).
- Proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong foundational understanding of architectural principles, design concepts, and building construction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn, adaptability, and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- No prior professional architectural experience is required; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with 3D rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Enscape) is a plus.
- A well-curated portfolio showcasing academic projects and design skills.
- Understanding of sustainable design principles.
- A connection to or interest in the Goldfields region.
