Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Pilbara Coastal Services as a Boat Yard Hand. This casual role involves supporting our busy marine operations in Karratha with general yard duties, vessel preparation, and maintenance tasks. You’ll work outdoors in a dynamic environment, contributing to the efficient running of our boat yard and ensuring our fleet is always ready for service. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, is reliable, and eager to learn within the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the movement and positioning of vessels within the boat yard.
- Performing general cleaning and maintenance of boats, equipment, and yard facilities.
- Supporting tradespeople with various tasks, including rigging, painting, and minor repairs.
- Operating basic hand and power tools safely.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials and supplies.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a marine, construction, or outdoor labor environment.
- Forklift operator's license.
- Coxswain or equivalent maritime qualification.
- First Aid certification.
