Job Description
We are actively seeking experienced and skilled Bricklayers / Masons to join our dynamic construction teams across various projects in Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland. This is a unique opportunity for talented individuals looking to advance their careers in a thriving environment. You will be responsible for executing high-quality brickwork and masonry, contributing to the successful completion of our diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other construction materials to construct or repair walls, foundations, arches, and other structures in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
- Measure and cut materials to specified sizes and shapes.
- Mix mortar and other compounds, ensuring correct consistency and application.
- Check vertical and horizontal alignment of courses with plumb-bob, level, and string.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building codes to determine specifications and calculate quantities of materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with site managers, foremen, and other construction professionals.
- Ensure the highest standards of workmanship and quality control are met on all tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer or Mason, demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of bricklaying.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of various bricklaying techniques, materials, and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Solid knowledge of construction site health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding construction tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Bricklaying or a related qualification.
- Experience with different types of masonry, including stone and block work.
- Valid UK driving license.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
