Job Description
Aramark is seeking a diligent and physically capable Catering Van Loader to join our dynamic team in Jersey City. This vital role involves preparing our catering vans for daily deliveries by efficiently loading a variety of items, including warmers, coolers, food containers, beverages, and other essential equipment. You will be responsible for accurately matching orders, ensuring proper temperature control for food items, and performing heavy lifting consistently throughout your shift. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided to ensure success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately load catering vans with prepared food, beverages, supplies, and equipment according to daily delivery schedules and order specifications.
- Safely handle and position warmers, coolers, and other heavy equipment, ensuring items are secured for transport.
- Verify all loaded items against order sheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the loading dock area and storage facilities.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory checks and report any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Perform routine pre-trip checks of vehicles and equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and drivers to ensure smooth and timely dispatch of catering orders.
Required Skills
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs or more) throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of food safety principles (training provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, loading, or food service environment.
- Familiarity with catering operations or logistics.
