Job Description
Are you passionate about healthcare and looking to kickstart your career in pharmacy? CVS Health is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacy Technician Intern to join our team in Riverside, CA. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both retail and clinical pharmacy settings, providing a comprehensive understanding of the pharmacy operations, patient care, and medication management. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will learn the fundamental aspects of a pharmacy technician’s role, contribute to daily operations, and develop essential skills in a supportive environment. Full training will be provided to ensure your success and growth within the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Learn and perform pharmacy calculations, prescription data entry, and patient profile management.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient questions and addressing concerns under pharmacist supervision.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
- Understand and adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, as well as CVS Health policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring sterility and safety.
- Participate in training modules and educational opportunities to enhance pharmacy knowledge and skills.
- Shadow pharmacists in clinical settings (if applicable within the program) to observe patient counseling and specialized services.
