Job Description
As a City Graffiti Removal Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the visual appeal and cleanliness of Lewisham’s public spaces. Operating independently, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and safely removing graffiti from various surfaces across the borough. A company van will be provided for your daily operations, allowing you to manage your route efficiently and effectively. This role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to restoring pride in our community. Full training on equipment and safe removal techniques will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a company-provided van to navigate designated areas within Lewisham.
- Independently identifying and locating instances of graffiti on public and private property.
- Assessing the type of graffiti and surface material to determine the most effective and safe removal method.
- Utilizing specialized equipment and chemicals to remove graffiti effectively without damaging underlying surfaces.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and environmental regulations during removal operations.
- Maintaining accurate records of completed work, materials used, and incidents reported.
- Performing daily vehicle checks and maintaining the cleanliness of the company van and equipment.
- Communicating effectively with the public and reporting any related issues or concerns to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License with a clean record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
- Physical fitness required for lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor maintenance, cleaning, or a similar field.
- Knowledge of different surface types and appropriate cleaning agents.
