Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated team in Derby. This role involves providing specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for a diverse caseload of service users within our mental health services. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the holistic care and recovery journey of individuals, utilising evidence-based practices and clinical governance. The successful candidate will have a passion for improving mental health outcomes and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, including psychometric testing and clinical interviews.
- Developing formulations and delivering evidence-based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT) tailored to individual needs.
- Providing psychological consultation, advice, and training to multidisciplinary team members and other professionals.
- Contributing to risk assessments and management plans for service users.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
- Participating in regular clinical supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.
- Engaging in service evaluation, audit, and research initiatives to enhance clinical practice.
- Working collaboratively with service users, their families, and carers to promote recovery and well-being.
Required Skills
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions with complex mental health presentations.
- Proficiency in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and ethical guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a specific specialist area of mental health (e.g., trauma, personality disorders, addictions).
- Experience of working within an independent healthcare setting.
- Accreditation in a specific therapeutic modality (e.g., BABCP accreditation for CBT).
- Experience in providing supervision to other psychological professionals.
