Job Description
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join our Silverwater team as a Casual Vegetable Packer. This is an on-site factory role focused on preparing fresh produce for distribution. You will be responsible for accurately weighing, sorting, and packing various vegetables according to quality standards and customer orders. This position offers flexible day work hours, perfect for those seeking casual employment in a dynamic warehouse environment. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, inspect, and prepare a variety of fresh vegetables for packing.
- Accurately weigh and package vegetables into designated containers or bags.
- Ensure all packed products meet strict quality and hygiene standards.
- Label packages correctly and prepare them for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout shifts.
- Follow all food safety and occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced factory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of health and safety guidelines.
- Team player with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing or warehouse role (even if minimal).
- Experience working with fresh produce or in a food manufacturing environment.
- Current Food Handling Certificate.
