Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Commercial Kitchen Deep Cleaner to join our night shift team in Squamish, BC. This critical role ensures the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained in our client’s commercial kitchen facilities. As a Night Shift Deep Cleaner, you will be responsible for thorough cleaning of all kitchen areas, equipment, and surfaces, following strict health and safety guidelines. This position offers premium pay for night shift work and is essential to the smooth operation and cleanliness of the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deep cleaning of all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, ceilings, and ventilation systems.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, stoves, refrigerators, and dishwashing machines.
- Disassemble and clean equipment parts as required, ensuring reassembly is correct and safe.
- Manage waste disposal, including separating and disposing of recycling and general waste.
- Sweep, mop, and scrub floors to remove grease, food debris, and other contaminants.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety data sheets (SDS).
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized cleaning supplies storage area.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night hours.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for night shift operations.
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to specific cleaning standards and chemical handling procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, particularly in a kitchen or food service environment.
- Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
- Experience using industrial cleaning equipment.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
