Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Control Systems (PLC) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Garland, Texas. This role offers a unique opportunity to design, develop, test, and implement advanced control systems for various industrial applications. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of automated processes, working with state-of-the-art technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and program PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems for new and existing industrial machinery and processes.
- Perform hardware and software integration, testing, and commissioning of control systems on-site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and software-related problems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, logic diagrams, and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and clients to define project requirements and ensure successful execution.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging control system technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure).
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development (e.g., Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Siemens WinCC, Wonderware InTouch).
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Knowledge of electrical control panel design and industrial electrical standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with robotics integration or motion control systems.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
- Project management experience or certifications.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working towards it.
