Job Description
Join our dynamic team at Zambrero Launceston as a Counter Server for casual evening shifts. This on-site role is perfect for individuals with excellent customer service skills and a passion for fast-paced environments. You will be the friendly face of our restaurant, responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, preparing food according to our standards, and ensuring a clean and welcoming atmosphere. We offer comprehensive training and a supportive team culture where you can grow your hospitality skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, offering suggestions when appropriate
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash/card transactions
- Prepare fresh food items, including burritos, bowls, and other menu items, following recipes and food safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the service counter, dining area, and kitchen
- Restock inventory and supplies as needed
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and preparation tasks
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic mathematical skills for cash handling
- Reliability and punctuality for evening shifts
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10kg
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or food service role (e.g., cafe, restaurant, takeaway)
- Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., Food Handler's Certificate)
- Familiarity with POS systems
