Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in Kingston upon Hull. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods and materials within our warehouse and yard operations. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the smooth flow of our logistics processes, ensuring products are handled with care and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, stack, and move products and materials.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of the forklift and complete necessary documentation.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Assist with manual handling tasks and general warehouse duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Accurately record and report all movements of goods and stock.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Required Skills
- Valid and in-date Counterbalance Forklift License (RTITB, ITSSAR accredited or equivalent).
- Minimum of 6 months demonstrable experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proven understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional MHE licenses (e.g., Reach Truck, VNA).
- Experience with inventory management systems (WMS).
- Previous experience in a similar role within a third-party logistics (3PL) environment.
