Job Description

Join Island Savings as a Member Services Teller and be the first point of contact for our valued members. In this vital front-line role, you will deliver exceptional customer service, handle day-to-day banking transactions, and identify opportunities to help members achieve their financial goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Process member transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and cheque cashing.
  • Provide friendly and professional service, answering member inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to refer members to financial advisors or other credit union specialists.
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer daily with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Adhere to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Educate members on credit union products and services that meet their needs.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures for the branch.
  • Uphold a high level of confidentiality and security in all transactions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a customer service or cash handling role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a financial institution or credit union.
  • Knowledge of banking software and systems.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
  • Experience identifying customer needs and recommending solutions.
