Job Description

Join The Shores Resort & Spa’s acclaimed culinary team as a Culinary Arts Intern. This is an incredible opportunity for aspiring chefs to gain hands-on experience in a high-volume, upscale fine dining environment. Under the guidance of our Executive Chef and seasoned professionals, you will learn fundamental kitchen operations, advanced cooking techniques, food safety standards, and the art of plating. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals eager to immerse themselves in the world of fine dining and contribute to creating memorable culinary experiences for our guests. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with food preparation, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
  • Learn and practice various cooking methods under supervision, such as sautéing, grilling, roasting, and baking.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the kitchen team during service, ensuring timely and accurate dish preparation.
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving, and proper storage of food supplies.
  • Observe and participate in menu development and special event preparations.
  • Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures, including dress code and punctuality.

  • Strong passion for culinary arts and the food service industry.
  • Eagerness to learn and take direction from experienced chefs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a culinary arts program.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting (e.g., volunteer, school projects) is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
