Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Biology Teacher to join our enthusiastic Science department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging Biology lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5. You will play a crucial role in fostering scientific curiosity, promoting a deep understanding of biological concepts, and helping students achieve their full academic potential. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Biology lessons to students aged 11-18.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Contribute to the development of the Biology curriculum and teaching materials.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to students.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance the overall educational experience.
Required Skills
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Biology or a related scientific field.
- Demonstrable experience teaching Biology at secondary school level (including NQT placements).
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching A-Level Biology.
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and examination boards.
- Participation in relevant professional development courses.
- Ability to contribute to extra-curricular science clubs or activities.
