Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civilian Logistics professional to join our team, supporting the Australian Department of Defence operations in Wyong, NSW. This pivotal role involves managing and coordinating the flow of critical supplies, equipment, and services to ensure the seamless execution of defence initiatives. You will be an integral part of a team committed to maintaining high standards of efficiency and compliance in a dynamic and essential environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national security in a civilian capacity, ensuring that our defence forces are always well-equipped and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control and stock levels for defence-related assets.
- Coordinate the movement of goods, including scheduling, transport, and delivery.
- Process procurement requests and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant defence logistics policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and defence personnel to resolve logistics issues.
- Prepare detailed reports on logistics activities, inventory status, and performance metrics.
- Implement and monitor supply chain security measures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics framework.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or inventory management.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working within a government or defence contractor environment.
- Knowledge of Australian Defence Force (ADF) logistics procedures and protocols.
- Forklift license or other relevant machinery operation certifications.
