Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Engineer to join our dynamic team in Carlisle, Cumbria. This is an incredible opportunity for a talented individual looking to contribute to mission-critical projects within the aerospace and defense sector. As a QA/QC Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our products and processes, from initial design to final deployment. You will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive test plans, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA protocols and procedures to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Create and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for various software and hardware components.
  • Perform thorough manual and automated testing to identify defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Document and report defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing input on testability and quality considerations.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, company policies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Familiarity with various software development lifecycles (SDLC) and testing types (functional, regression, performance).
  • Previous experience in the aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries.
  • Relevant QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
