Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Rooms to lead our Rooms Division team at our prestigious luxury hotel in Portage la Prairie. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all operations related to Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Bell/Concierge services. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record in luxury hospitality, exceptional guest relations skills, and the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day operations of the Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Bell/Concierge departments.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance guest satisfaction, drive revenue, and optimize operational efficiency within the Rooms Division.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of hospitality professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and service quality are maintained across all guest-facing areas.
  • Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service standards.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments (e.g., Sales, F&B, Engineering) to ensure seamless guest experiences and operational synergy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to continually improve service delivery.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and coaching to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, brand standards, and local regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a luxury hotel Rooms Division (Front Office Manager, Executive Housekeeper, or Assistant Director of Rooms equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a large, diverse team.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management and cost control.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS, CRM systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding guest service in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Experience working in an international luxury hotel setting.
  • Multilingual abilities.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian hospitality market and labor laws.
