Job Description
Are you a naturally kind, empathetic, and reliable individual looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in someone’s life? Silver Chain Group is seeking compassionate Elderly Companions in Perth to provide non-medical support and companionship to our elderly clients in their homes. This role focuses on enhancing our clients’ quality of life through social interaction, light household assistance, and support with daily routines. No medical training or prior experience in aged care is required; we provide comprehensive training and a supportive team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities such as reading, games, or outings.
- Assist with light household tasks, including tidying, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to prevent social isolation.
- Accompany clients to appointments, social events, or for walks.
- Assist with grocery shopping and other errands.
- Observe and report any changes in client's condition or behaviour to the supervisor.
- Adhere to Silver Chain Group's policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for helping and caring for elderly individuals.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (non-medical focused).
- Previous experience in a client-facing role or providing informal care to family/friends.
