Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in the fast-evolving automotive industry? DHL Express is offering an incredible opportunity to become an Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet Mechanic Trainee. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with a passion for mechanics and a desire to learn, even if you have no prior experience with EVs. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training to diagnose, maintain, and repair our state-of-the-art electric vehicle fleet. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior mechanics with routine maintenance and inspections of EV fleet vehicles.
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in electric vehicles.
- Participate in hands-on training for EV component repair and replacement, including battery systems, charging infrastructure, and electric motors.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations during vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities under supervision.
- Develop a strong understanding of EV technology and diagnostic tools.
- Contribute to a clean and organized workshop environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A strong passion for automotive technology and a keen interest in electric vehicles.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or demonstrable interest in hands-on work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Valid UK Driving License (or willingness to obtain one upon starting).
Preferred Qualifications
- Any previous hands-on experience in a workshop setting, even a hobbyist setting.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems (e.g., from school projects or hobbies).
- Enrollment in or completion of a relevant vocational course is a plus.
