Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team in Tucson, Arizona. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of environmental projects, focusing on compliance, remediation, water resources, and sustainable infrastructure development. The successful candidate will work on projects ranging from site assessments and data analysis to design and implementation of environmental solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental site assessments and investigations, including data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare environmental impact reports, feasibility studies, and regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Develop and implement remediation strategies for contaminated sites (soil and groundwater).
  • Design and oversee environmental infrastructure projects related to water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and air quality.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for water resource management projects.
  • Ensure projects comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, ADEQ).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Present technical findings and project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and project scopes of work.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an Environmental focus, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in environmental engineering.
  • Proficiency in environmental data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal and state environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with GIS and CAD software for mapping and design.
  • Problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with specific environmental modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, HEC-RAS).
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience working with Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) regulations.
  • Fluency in a second language relevant to international project work.
