Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Science & Sustainability Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both field and office settings, supporting various environmental and sustainability projects. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects, data collection, analysis, and report preparation. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for students passionate about environmental science, conservation, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers and environmental specialists with field investigations, including data collection, site assessments, and sampling activities (e.g., soil, water, air).
- Support the preparation of environmental reports, permits, and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct research on environmental regulations, sustainability best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Perform data entry, analysis, and interpretation using various software tools, including GIS.
- Participate in client meetings and internal project team discussions to understand project scopes and objectives.
- Aid in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives for internal operations and client projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized project files and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during field and office work.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Ecology, Geology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in environmental protection, conservation, and sustainability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of coursework in GIS, environmental regulations, hydrology, or toxicology.
- Prior experience with data analysis or scientific writing.
- Familiarity with environmental sampling techniques.
