Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Family Court Support Assistant to join our team in Kailua, HI. In this vital government role, you will provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Family Court, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of court proceedings and services. This position involves interacting with the public, court staff, and legal professionals, handling sensitive information, and maintaining accurate records within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to public service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to Family Court judges, clerks, and other staff.
- Prepare, process, and maintain court documents, case files, and correspondence.
- Schedule hearings, meetings, and appointments for court personnel.
- Answer inquiries from the public, attorneys, and other agencies regarding court procedures and case status.
- Assist with courtroom duties, including preparing for sessions and managing exhibits.
- Enter data accurately into court management systems.
- Manage and organize office supplies and equipment.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive court information and records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support court operations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 12 months of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a legal or government setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and accurate data entry skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with court management software systems.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures.
- Prior experience working with diverse populations.
