Job Description
Join the Pilot Freight Services team as a Ferry Baggage Handler and contribute to the smooth operation of our waterside terminal in Tulsa, OK. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals seeking a physically active role within a bustling logistics environment. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe handling of luggage and various cargo, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt for river transport and other terminal operations. Full training will be provided to ensure you are proficient in all aspects of the role, including safety protocols and equipment usage. This is a vital role that supports the flow of goods and ensures a positive experience for all terminal users.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload luggage and various cargo from river vessels and terminal vehicles.
- Safely transport items across the terminal using hand trucks, dollies, or other assigned equipment.
- Verify cargo manifests and ensure accurate handling and placement of all items.
- Inspect items for damage and report any discrepancies or issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the terminal.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist passengers or team members with inquiries or directions as needed.
- Operate basic material handling equipment after proper training.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
