Job Description
Join the vibrant team at Smith’s Food & Drug as a Supermarket Bakery Assistant! We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to help create delicious baked goods for our customers. This role involves early morning starts, ensuring our bakery shelves are stocked with fresh bread, pastries, and treats right from opening. Key Responsibilities
- Assist bakers with the preparation of various bakery items including breads, pastries, and cakes.
- Ensure all baked goods are fresh, properly displayed, and replenished throughout the day.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area, including equipment and workstations.
- Operate baking equipment safely and efficiently after receiving proper training.
- Package, label, and price bakery products accurately.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages to management.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to work early morning shifts consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating quantities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Previous experience in a food service or retail environment.
- Understanding of basic food safety principles.
- A passion for baking and creating delicious food.
