Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Food Service Assistant to join our team in Mount Gambier. In this essential role, you will contribute directly to the comfort and well-being of our hospital patients and aged care residents by ensuring they receive nutritious and appealing meals in a clean and friendly environment. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who are reliable, have a positive attitude, and are eager to learn. Full training will be provided to help you excel in all aspects of the role, including food safety, meal preparation, and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages to patients and residents, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Assist with the delivery of meal trays to rooms and dining areas, providing a friendly and respectful service.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchenettes, dining areas, and equipment, following strict food safety guidelines.
- Clear tables, wash dishes, and assist with general kitchen duties as required.
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe handling practices are consistently followed.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, dietitians, and other team members regarding patient/resident needs and feedback.
- Restock supplies in kitchenettes and dining areas.
- Assist residents with meal consumption as needed, maintaining dignity and respect.
