Job Description
Join the H-E-B team as a Fresh Produce Sorter in our Katy distribution center. In this vital role, you will be responsible for meticulously inspecting, sorting, and preparing fresh produce for distribution to our stores. This position offers consistent early morning shifts, ensuring you get a head start on your day, and includes paid breaks to support your well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming produce for quality, freshness, and adherence to H-E-B standards.
- Sort fresh fruits and vegetables according to grade, size, and ripeness.
- Remove any damaged, bruised, or substandard produce.
- Pack sorted produce into appropriate containers for storage and shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Operate basic sorting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Capable of working early morning shifts.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 30 lbs), and bend for extended periods.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or food handling environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with various types of fresh produce.
