Job Description
See’s Candies is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Part-Time Gourmet Chocolate Shop Cashier to join our team in San Diego. In this exciting role, you’ll be the face of our brand, providing delightful experiences to every customer. You’ll handle transactions, assist with product selections, and ensure our shop is always welcoming and beautifully presented. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who love chocolate, enjoy interacting with people, and are looking for flexible hours, including during holiday seasons. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit, and gift card payments.
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, answering questions about products and assisting with selections.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting shop environment, including dusting, stocking shelves, and ensuring product displays are appealing.
- Prepare and offer complimentary samples to customers, enhancing their shopping experience.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments, stocking products, and monitoring stock levels.
- Package chocolates and candies beautifully for customers, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, safety, and hygiene.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak holiday periods.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide friendly, efficient, and professional customer service.
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Enthusiasm for chocolate and sweet treats!
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is a plus, but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
