Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team. This vital role involves performing a wide range of laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and ensuring accurate and timely results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex medical laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Analyze and interpret test results, maintaining meticulous records and reporting findings accurately and promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols, quality control procedures, and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, etc.).
- Troubleshoot technical issues with instrumentation and methodologies, documenting corrective actions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide critical diagnostic information.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with laboratory science advancements.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related science field.
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certification or equivalent eligibility.
- Proficiency in performing tests across multiple laboratory disciplines (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
- Experience with specific laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Previous experience in a large hospital laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with various automated laboratory analyzers and platforms.
