Job Description
Join Manafort Brothers Inc. as a Government Roadworks Flagger / Traffic Control specialist! This entry-level position offers comprehensive paid training, making it perfect for individuals eager to start a career in construction and public safety without prior experience. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of both road construction crews and the traveling public by directing traffic around work zones. This is an on-site, full-time role dedicated to supporting vital infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic using signs and hand signals.
- Communicate clearly with construction crew members and other flaggers to coordinate movements.
- Set up and maintain temporary traffic control devices, including cones, barrels, and signage.
- Monitor traffic flow and adjust flagging procedures as necessary to ensure safety.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to a supervisor.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with the public.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Hartford area.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification (training can be provided if not held).
- Any prior experience in a outdoor or safety-focused role is a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver's license.
