Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Data Analyst with a strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) to join our team in Bristol. In this ongoing role, you will be instrumental in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting WHS data to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and support strategic safety initiatives across our operations. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, a passion for safety, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels. You will contribute directly to enhancing our safety culture and reducing workplace risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and organize large datasets related to WHS incidents, audits, training, and compliance.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of WHS incidents and non-compliance.
  • Develop and maintain WHS dashboards and reports using data visualization tools to present key performance indicators (KPIs) effectively.
  • Support the WHS team in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies based on data insights.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of WHS data.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of WHS data management systems and processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for management, highlighting critical WHS issues and recommendations.
  • Stay updated on WHS regulations, industry best practices, and data analysis techniques.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python/R)
  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and concisely
  • Understanding of WHS principles and regulations
  • Proven experience in data collection, cleaning, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering.
  • Experience working within a large manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of specific WHS management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Formal qualification in data analytics or business intelligence.
