Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our vital support team as Hospital Porters. This is an entry-level, full-time position offering comprehensive training for those new to the healthcare sector. As a Hospital Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital, facilitating patient care, and supporting clinical staff. Your work will involve transporting patients, equipment, samples, and supplies safely and efficiently throughout the hospital environment. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients via beds, trolleys, or wheelchairs between wards, departments, and clinic areas.
  • Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, patient notes, and supplies across the hospital site.
  • Collect and deliver mail, pharmacy items, and other essential goods.
  • Assist with the movement of deceased patients to the mortuary, showing dignity and respect.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of equipment and work areas.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and hospital procedures.
  • Respond promptly to requests and manage workload efficiently.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.

  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina for frequent walking, pushing, and lifting.

  • No prior experience required; full training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Basic IT literacy.
  • First aid qualification.
