Job Description
Are you an early riser with a passion for excellent service? Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops is seeking a friendly and dedicated Hotel Breakfast Buffet Attendant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and replenishing our breakfast buffet, ensuring guests have a delightful start to their day. This position offers early morning shifts, allowing you to have your afternoons free to enjoy everything Kamloops has to offer. No prior experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive training to ensure you succeed and become an integral part of our breakfast service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and arrange the breakfast buffet attractively before service begins.
- Greet guests warmly and assist them with any requests regarding the buffet offerings.
- Monitor food levels constantly and replenish items promptly to ensure freshness and availability.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the buffet area, dining room, and kitchen support areas.
- Clear tables, clean up spills, and assist with dishware removal as needed.
- Ensure all food items are presented at correct temperatures and in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including breakdown and proper storage of food items.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive, friendly service.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding food quantities and preparation needs.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards (training provided).
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or customer service role is a plus, but not required.
- Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
