Job Description
Join Griffith University’s pioneering Modern Agriculture Mentorship program as a Hydroponics Intern in Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast. This entry-level position is designed for passionate individuals eager to learn about sustainable farming and advanced agricultural technology. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training and mentorship from leading experts, contributing to real-world research and operational tasks in our state-of-the-art hydroponic facilities. No prior experience in hydroponics is required, just an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily monitoring and maintenance of hydroponic systems, including nutrient solution levels, pH, and electrical conductivity.
- Learn and perform plant propagation, transplanting, and harvesting techniques specific to hydroponic environments.
- Collect and accurately record data related to plant growth, environmental conditions, and system performance.
- Support senior researchers in setting up and conducting various experiments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the grow facilities.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute ideas for system optimization and research initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members on ongoing projects and tasks.
