Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic AO2 Clerical Officer to join our team in Dubbo. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in public service and contribute to the vital work of supporting regional communities. You will provide essential administrative support, ensuring the efficient operation of our office and the effective delivery of services to the public. Full training will be provided to help you excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support, including data entry, filing, photocopying, and mail handling.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from the public, staff, and external agencies via phone, email, and in-person, escalating complex matters as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases in compliance with departmental procedures and privacy guidelines.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of various documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Support office operations by managing supplies, coordinating meeting logistics, and maintaining common areas.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and ethical standards, ensuring a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role, even if informal.
  • Experience working within a government or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of the Dubbo region and its community.
  • Completion of a Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent vocational qualification.
