Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Ice Sculpture Setup Assistant to join our specialized events team in Coquitlam. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are detail-oriented, and don’t mind working in colder conditions. You will play a crucial role in the precise and safe setup and dismantling of intricate ice sculptures at various event venues, ensuring they are perfectly presented to delight our clients and their guests. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the careful transport of ice sculptures and related equipment to event sites.
- Follow detailed instructions for the precise placement and assembly of ice sculpture components.
- Utilize specialized tools and techniques for minor adjustments and finishing touches on sculptures.
- Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed during setup, dismantling, and handling of ice.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during setup and breakdown.
- Assist with the packing and loading of equipment post-event.
- Communicate effectively with team members and event managers to ensure smooth execution.
- Adhere to event timelines and schedules.
- Provide support for other event setup tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and a steady hand.
- Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to our Coquitlam facility and event sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an event setup, production, or logistics role (even informal or volunteer experience).
- Familiarity with handling delicate or fragile materials.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Forklift certification (an asset, but not required).
