Job Description
We are seeking compassionate and reliable individuals to join our team as In-Home Respite Assistants in Byron Bay. This role offers flexible hours, making it an ideal opportunity for those looking to make a meaningful difference while managing their own schedule. As an In-Home Respite Assistant, you will provide essential support and companionship to individuals, offering their primary caregivers much-needed breaks. You will assist clients with daily activities, engage them in social interactions, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment within their own homes. This is a high-demand role, and we are looking for dedicated individuals eager to contribute to the well-being of our community members. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in community care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities tailored to their interests.
- Assist clients with light household tasks such as meal preparation, tidying, and laundry.
- Support clients with personal care tasks, if required, always maintaining dignity and respect.
- Facilitate social engagement through outings, hobbies, or conversations.
- Monitor client well-being and report any changes or concerns to a supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment in the client's home.
- Adhere to individual care plans and Uniting NSW.ACT policies and procedures.
- Document services provided and client progress accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
- Previous experience in a care or support role (volunteer or paid).
