Job Description
As an IT Operations Manager at Airbus in Bristol, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for the continuous availability, performance, and security of our critical IT infrastructure and services. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our technological backbone supports our ambitious projects in aerospace innovation. You will oversee daily operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage vendor relationships, and contribute to strategic planning. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of IT systems, networks, and services, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT operations specialists.
- Implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices (ITIL, etc.).
- Manage incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Monitor system performance and security, responding to alerts and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Contribute to IT strategy, budgeting, and capacity planning.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal security standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT operations management, including infrastructure, network, and system administration.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and on-premise data centers.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (with sponsorship if required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- ITIL Foundation or higher certification.
- Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.
