Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Java Developer to join our growing team in Titanic Quarter, Belfast. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and resilient enterprise applications. You will work within an agile framework, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet business needs and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust Java-based applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues, ensuring optimal application performance and stability.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and technology roadmaps.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Java Developer (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong proficiency in Java 8+ and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data).
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
