Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Laundry Assistant to join our vibrant team at Premier Inn in Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual to play a key role in ensuring our hotel operates efficiently by providing clean, fresh linens and uniforms. No previous experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be provided to help you excel in this vital role. You will be responsible for the daily processing of laundry, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation, and contributing to the overall cleanliness and comfort that our guests expect.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold all hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently, including washing machines, dryers, and ironers.
- Inspect items for stains or damage, and report any issues or items requiring special attention.
- Ensure the laundry area is kept clean, tidy, and organised at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Manage and maintain adequate stock levels of laundry supplies and report replenishment needs.
- Collaborate with the housekeeping and front office teams to meet daily linen requirements and special requests.
- Assist with other general housekeeping duties as required to support the hotel operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation principles.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality, laundry, or similar service-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with different fabric types and appropriate washing/drying techniques.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workplace setting.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
