Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Seasonal Tennis Court Maintenance Worker at our Colchester club. This role is crucial in ensuring our tennis facilities, both indoor and outdoor, are kept to the highest standards for our members throughout the peak season. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and preparation of indoor and outdoor tennis courts, including sweeping and brushing surfaces.
- Ensure correct net tension, post alignment, and general court readiness for play.
- Sweep, roll, and brush clay courts to maintain optimal playing conditions as required.
- Assist with line marking and minor repairs to court surfaces under supervision.
- Undertake general groundskeeping duties around the tennis court area, including litter picking, weeding, and basic landscape tidying.
- Monitor court conditions and promptly report any significant damage, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to the Head Groundsman.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and club policies.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for various tennis activities and events.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with colleagues and report issues.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or sports facility maintenance is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A valid UK driving license may be beneficial for transporting equipment around the site.
- An interest in tennis or sports in general.
