Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Laundry Assistant to join our team in Belfast. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to start a career in hospitality, ensuring our hotel operations run smoothly by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and availability of linen. You will play a crucial role in providing clean, fresh linen for our guests, contributing directly to their comfort and satisfaction. Full training will be provided to help you excel in this vital position.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold all hotel linen, including bedding, towels, and uniforms.
- Operate laundry machinery safely and efficiently, following all operational guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry room and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of linen and report any shortages or damaged items.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with other housekeeping duties as required, supporting the wider team.
- Handle laundry chemicals safely and according to guidelines.
- Inspect linen for stains or damage before and after laundering.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to handle and transport laundry, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic literacy skills for understanding labels and instructions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or commercial laundry (even minimal experience is a plus).
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and appropriate washing methods.
