Job Description
Quest Fremantle is seeking a dedicated and efficient Laundry Sorter to join our hotel services team. In this full-time role, you will be crucial in ensuring our linen and laundry operations run smoothly, maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction our brand is known for. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining a tidy and organized workspace. You will work regular shifts, contributing directly to the comfort and quality of our guest’s stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort soiled laundry items including linens, towels, and uniforms according to type, color, and required cleaning methods.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or repairs needed and report findings to supervisors.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment such as washers, dryers, and presses safely and efficiently after receiving training.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean laundry for storage or distribution to guest rooms and other hotel departments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment and surrounding workspaces.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies related to laundry operations.
- Assist with inventory counts of linen as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 15 kg for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different fabric types and stains.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Prior experience in a laundry or hotel environment (minimum 6 months preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment.
- Experience working in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
