Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic Corporate Law team in Tuggerah. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for a recent law graduate or someone with minimal legal experience looking to build a career in corporate law within a prestigious firm. You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners, gaining exposure to a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, corporate governance, and commercial contracts. Full training and mentorship will be provided to help you develop a strong foundation in corporate legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on corporate law matters.
- Assist in the drafting and review of various corporate documents, including contracts, agreements, and board resolutions.
- Prepare advice and memoranda for senior lawyers and clients.
- Support due diligence processes for corporate transactions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Assist with regulatory compliance tasks and reporting.
- Participate in client meetings and internal team discussions.
- Organise and manage legal documents and case files.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Practical Legal Training (PLT) or currently undertaking.
- Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
- Prior internship, clerkship, or volunteer experience in a legal environment (especially corporate law) is highly regarded but not essential.
- Demonstrated interest in corporate law and commercial transactions.
