Job Description
Are you a sports enthusiast looking to get your foot in the door of live broadcasting? Prairie Sports Broadcasts is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Live Sports Camera Operators (Trainee) for weekend matches. No prior experience is required – we will provide comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed to operate broadcast cameras for various live sporting events. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience, and be part of an exciting production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate broadcast cameras under the guidance of experienced directors and crew.
- Follow specific shot lists and camera directions during live sports broadcasts.
- Set up and tear down camera equipment at various sporting venues.
- Maintain equipment in good working order and report any issues.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure seamless broadcast coverage.
- Adhere to broadcast schedules and production timelines.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for live sports and broadcasting.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for weekend shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, live environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move camera equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- Availability to work primarily on weekends, including evenings and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of photography or videography principles.
- Familiarity with various sports (e.g., hockey, basketball, football, soccer).
- Previous experience with team-based projects or events.
- Enrollment in or completion of a media production or related program is a plus, but not required.
