Job Description
Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Marine Biology Research Intern to join our coastal field work team. This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about marine science to gain hands-on experience in real-world environmental research. As a Marine Biology Research Intern, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing projects focused on understanding and conserving coastal ecosystems in the Great Lakes region. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection of marine and freshwater samples (e.g., water, sediment, biota) in coastal environments.
- Operate and maintain field research equipment, including data sondes, GPS units, and sampling gear.
- Participate in data entry, organization, and preliminary analysis of field observations and lab results.
- Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and ethical guidelines in all field and lab activities.
- Collaborate with senior researchers and fellow interns on various project tasks.
Required Skills
