Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in healthcare administration within a clinical environment? The Limestone Coast Local Health Network is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Medical Records Assistant to join our team in Mount Gambier. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of patient medical records, directly supporting our clinical staff and ensuring seamless patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately file, retrieve, and scan patient medical records in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all patient information at all times.
- Assist clinical staff with record retrieval requests and provide support for record management inquiries.
- Update patient demographic information and medical record entries as required.
- Prepare medical charts for appointments, admissions, and discharges.
- Maintain an organised and efficient filing system for both physical and electronic records.
- Participate in regular audits and quality improvement activities related to medical records.
- Undertake general administrative duties as directed by the Medical Records Coordinator.
