Job Description
Are you passionate about music, especially guitars, and eager to start a career in a unique retail environment? Bonners Music is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Guitar Stringer to join our Eastbourne team. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience in guitar stringing is required. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and an unwavering desire to learn. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training from our experienced technicians, learning the art and science of stringing and re-stringing a variety of guitars, as well as basic instrument setup and maintenance. This niche role is perfect for someone looking to turn their love for music into a practical and rewarding skill.
Key Responsibilities
- Undergo full training to master the techniques of stringing and re-stringing acoustic, electric, and bass guitars.
- Learn to identify appropriate string gauges and types for different instruments and player preferences.
- Assist with basic instrument cleaning and maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Develop an understanding of basic guitar setup, including tuning and intonation.
- Support the wider retail team with inventory management related to strings and accessories.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, providing basic advice on guitar strings and care as knowledge develops.
