Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic pediatric team. This vital role involves assessing, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions for children with a wide range of developmental, physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children from infancy through adolescence, collaborating with families and other professionals, and making a significant impact on children’s lives. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess children's fine motor skills, gross motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and play skills.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals based on assessment findings, child's needs, and family priorities.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, including sensory integration, fine motor activities, visual motor training, handwriting intervention, and activities of daily living (ADL) training.
  • Educate and empower parents/caregivers with strategies and home programs to support carryover of therapeutic goals into daily routines.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to all ethical and professional standards set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and state licensing boards.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Eligibility for or current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric development and common childhood conditions affecting occupational performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to working with children and families.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous clinical experience (including extensive fieldwork) in pediatric settings.
  • Experience with sensory integration, feeding therapy, or handwriting programs.
  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and be resourceful in a dynamic clinical environment.
