Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in a specialized trade? TK Elevator is seeking motivated and eager individuals to join our Moncton team as an Elevator / Escalator Modernization Helper. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to learn a highly paid, in-demand skill with comprehensive on-the-job training. You will work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with the modernization, installation, and repair of state-of-the-art elevator and escalator systems. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals with mechanical aptitude and a desire to build a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead technicians with the modernization, installation, and repair of elevator and escalator systems.
  • Transport tools, materials, and equipment to and from job sites efficiently and safely.
  • Prepare work areas, including setting up safety barriers and ensuring a clean and organized environment.
  • Learn and strictly adhere to all safety protocols, industry regulations, and company procedures.
  • Perform basic tasks as directed by technicians, such as cutting materials, drilling, cleaning components, or assembling parts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work vehicle, tools, and personal protective equipment.
  • Actively participate in all provided training and development initiatives to advance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in various physical positions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn specialized technical skills.
  • Excellent attendance record and punctuality.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and adherence to company policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a construction, mechanical, or electrical trade (even basic exposure or vocational training is a plus).
  • Basic familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces (with provided safety training).
